PhoneCheck

Privacy Policy

PhoneCheck is designed to help users inspect and test the functionality of a mobile device before purchasing or evaluating it. We aim to keep diagnostic information private, transparent and limited to what is needed to provide the app's features.

Effective Date: September 25, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how PhoneCheck ("PhoneCheck", "the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the application.

PhoneCheck provides device information, guided hardware tests, physical inspection tools and inspection results intended to help users evaluate the functionality and observable condition of a device.

PhoneCheck does not require a user account. Most diagnostic information and inspection results are processed on or stored directly on the user's device.

2. Device Information

PhoneCheck may access technical information made available through public operating-system APIs in order to display device information and perform diagnostic functions.

Depending on the device and operating system, this information may include:

PhoneCheck uses this information only for app functionality, diagnostics, inspection results and related user-facing features.

3. Diagnostic Tests

PhoneCheck may provide guided or interactive diagnostic tests including:

Diagnostic results represent only the functions and conditions evaluated during the tests actually performed.

4. Camera Access

PhoneCheck may request access to the camera when you intentionally start a camera-related diagnostic.

Camera access may be used to display a live preview and allow you to evaluate camera functionality such as image capture, focus and flash.

PhoneCheck does not intentionally upload camera images or video captured during diagnostic testing to our servers.

5. Microphone Access

PhoneCheck may request microphone access when you choose to perform the microphone diagnostic.

The microphone may be used to create a short temporary recording that can be played back so you can evaluate microphone functionality.

Diagnostic recordings are not intended to be uploaded to our servers or permanently included in inspection reports.

6. Location Access

PhoneCheck may request location permission when you intentionally perform the GPS or location test.

Location functionality may be used to determine whether the device can receive a usable location update and to display diagnostic accuracy information.

PhoneCheck does not require location permission simply to open or use the main interface of the application.

Precise coordinates are not intended to be stored in the inspection report.

7. Bluetooth Access

PhoneCheck may access Bluetooth functionality when you intentionally perform the Bluetooth diagnostic.

This can be used to determine states such as whether Bluetooth is powered on, powered off, unavailable or unauthorized.

PhoneCheck does not use Bluetooth diagnostic functionality to track your physical location.

8. Motion and Sensor Data

When you perform supported diagnostic tests, PhoneCheck may process information from hardware or system sensors including:

This information is used to provide the requested diagnostic functionality.

9. Saved Inspection Results

PhoneCheck may allow completed inspections to be saved locally on the device.

Saved inspection information may include:

Saved reports remain primarily on your device unless you explicitly use a sharing or export feature.

10. Advertising and Google AdMob

PhoneCheck may display advertisements through Google AdMob or Google Mobile Ads.

Google and its advertising partners may process information according to their own privacy policies, consent requirements and applicable laws.

Depending on your device settings, region and privacy choices, advertising services may process information such as:

Advertising personalization may depend on your consent choices and applicable privacy requirements.

11. App Tracking Transparency

Where applicable, PhoneCheck may use Apple's AppTrackingTransparency framework before allowing advertising technologies to access data that Apple classifies as tracking.

You may choose not to grant tracking permission. Core device testing and inspection functionality is not intended to depend on granting tracking permission.

12. Information We Do Not Intentionally Access

PhoneCheck is not intended to collect restricted device information that normal third-party applications are not permitted to access.

This may include:

13. Inspection Accuracy

PhoneCheck is intended to assist with device inspection. Results are based on tests performed through the application and information made available to it.

PhoneCheck does not guarantee that a device is free from defects. It does not guarantee authenticity, ownership status, repair history, future performance or overall device condition.

A successful diagnostic result means only that the tested function behaved as expected during that particular test.

14. Inspection Recommendations

PhoneCheck may summarize completed inspection results using labels such as:

These summaries are based only on the inspection results available in the app and are intended as informational assistance.

They are not guarantees, certifications or professional assessments. The user remains responsible for making any purchasing decision.

15. Local Storage

PhoneCheck may store settings and inspection reports locally on your device so that features such as Previous Reports can function.

Deleting the application may also remove locally stored PhoneCheck information, depending on the operating system and backup settings.

16. Sharing

When PhoneCheck provides sharing functionality, data is shared only after you intentionally choose to share it.

Once information is shared with another application, platform or service, that third party's own privacy practices may apply.

17. Children's Privacy

PhoneCheck is a general-purpose device diagnostic utility and is not specifically directed to children.

We do not intentionally design PhoneCheck to collect personal information directly from children.

18. Security

We aim to minimize unnecessary information collection and use platform security mechanisms where appropriate.

However, no electronic storage or software system can guarantee absolute security.

19. Third-Party Services

PhoneCheck may rely on third-party or operating-system services for application distribution, advertising or certain functionality.

These services operate according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Services may include:
